Can I cancel my loan insurance before the end of the term?

I took out a personal loan with my bank about 2.5 years ago and took PPI at the same time because it seemed like a sensible thing to do. I've never claimed on it although I did once request a claim pack but then got a job before the claim went in.

Can I cancel it when I still have 2.5 years to run on it? Would I get any money back? The PPI adds quite a bit onto the monthly payment and things are fairly tight with us at the moment and the extra money would be really useful.

TIA Smile
