DH injured wrist three years ago at work. His firm's insurance company would not settle case so court proceedings have been issue. The insurance company has now put in a defence which includes full admission of liability for the accident.

However they have still not offered any settlement figure.

I was wondering if there any personal injury experts here, as I wanted to know likelihood of having to wait til court date (prob 6 months) or whether insurance companies tend to settle to save money as they are responsible for their and our solictors costs.

When I had a claim, I was told it was very unlikely that it would actually make the inside of the court building, and it was settled out of court shortly before matter was due to be heard in court.

Mine as well. Settled approximately 6 weeks before the court hearing date from memory.
