Tax credit website - Do I qualify Questionnaire - v basic query

Hi all,

My salary is drastically changing downwards :( and I'm checking what this will do to my tax credits...Is the end result of what you are entitled "Do I qualify?" displayed per month or per year?

Sorry it's a basic Q but I'm unsure how the calculations are made and I havent had any changes in my status for years in fact up until now.

TIA

If it's the calculator on the HMRC site then it'll give you the total amount likely to be awarded between now and April 2011. The rules change then and the site hasn't been updated yet.

Aha thanks chil I've just read the small print! You are right. I thought the figure seemed a bit odd, too much per month yet too little for a year. Thanks again.

My dad was on it yesterday and it was only telling him what he would get up to April this year, I think you will only get a full year amount after April when they have started sending out the 2011/2012 renewals. So this will mean that what it states is what you would be eligble to receive between now and the start of April 2011.

My salary is changing beg April so it times in with whatever the new rates will be. My youngest starts school beg Sept so I've not long until my childcare bill decreases as well.
