Was under the impresson that the rules for this were going to change April 1st, as in you claim the grant at 29 weeks and if you are 29 weeks BEFORE april 1st then you will get the grant.

I am 29 weeks in 3 weeks so have been heavily depending on this grant to the point where i even borrowed money aginst it from a friend.

Just looked ont he site to get the form as am at midwives in a few weeks and it says we aren't going to get it.

It saying if baby is due after april 11th then you don't get with other kids.

The same thing happened wit the £190 grant :(
please don't turn this into a debate whether these grants should be given in the fis place.

We struggle on income support and thoguth we had 700 coming in t st alot out, now its not a penny.

Am feeling really shite.

Everything we would have goen fr baby wwould h been 2nd hand anyways but am just gutted :(

Might you be able to get a community care grant? Or failing that a budgeting loan, which will have to be paid back but only at a maximum of 12% of your benefits each week.

The birth is still 2 months away yet, your DH may find work in that time.

If not, then you'll need to re-use anything from your other children and you'll get CB for the new baby to buy things with - babies dont actually need much stuff.

i was 17 in 2001 when i had my son and i got a ssg for him.... i had a daughter in 2006 and i worked so i paid for everything and then wasnt expecting to have any more and gave all my things to charity. now i dont qualify for sure start even tho i claimed it once ten years ago!! i dont have any baby things and am 25 weeks pregnant by suprise! i live on is with my 2 other kids!! can i claim a community care grant or budgeting loan... im confused as to what help i can ask for! help. did you ever get help with a grant...
