i applied for help with travelling costs to see peter. its a sixty mile round trip, plus a weekly parking ticket of 10pound. they assumed i had asked for 300 pounds, i didnt actually put an amount in. but they have decided that 72.20p is enough to meet my needs. that barely covers petrol for 3 weeks. i put in for a 3month period. jeez. ah well, i guess its better than a kick in the teeth.

my mum used to get nothing towards travelling expenses when my sister was in and out of hospital. So at least you have something, even if it isnt much

i know i shouldnt moan, but its very well reported now that those with seriously ill family members sink into debt. if it wasnt for generous mnetters, we'd have been in a real finicial mess.
