I have been having a big clearout, selling lots on ebay and mumsnet etc, and I've also made a few buig purchases through Paypal for my new baby.

So because I have been using it alot (!) Paypal have frozen my account and will not let me withdraw my money!

They say they want:

An explination of all my recent purchases!!. I ahve done this notw and that criterea is 'checked'
They want Photo ID!! So I have scanned and uploaded my passport and marriage certificate 2 days ago - but it says in progress still.

And finally they wanted me to add a bank account, which i didn't want to do anyways as I used my husbands, but I added my bank account I recently opened but I've not even confirmed my new bank account yet and paypal are saying they will send some random amount there and to 'unlock' it i have to ring the bank and find out how much they deposited.

I'm so pissed off - the money in there was saved for a purchase that I won on ebay but now cannot pay for - the seller is loosing patience and I need to book courriers with it!!

How can they do this?!

Paypal, like all financial service companies, has to be very careful that they are not being used as a conduit for money-laundering. Most will query it if the activity on an account seems out of the ordinary and will want things like proof of ID etc. Might help to talk to them in person

Paypal is a PITA - they froze my account (luckily dind't have any money init) and then demanded the full numbers of some credit cards that I had when I opened the account in 2002. Of course I don't have them you morons.

Trid scanning + uploading proof of address etc but they are just ignoring it.

I've spoken to them and they are just useless arseholes.

Been on the phone 3 times today.

Now they want tracking numbers of the things i have sold on ebay - when the people have recieved the items and left positive feedback i threw the reciepts away!!

why would i keep them - the people obviously recieved their items as they have left +!!

I really need my money, am getting so stressed :(
