Finally have a completion date. Whats the drill with stopping direct debits etc gas/elec/water-all that stuff???

Moving two weeks tomorrow!! (hurrah- SIX WHOLE MONTHS LATER!!!)

So- now I need to inform all those that take money from my bank every month.

Do I need to wait closer to the date or should I get this ball rolling now.

Any other tips? (that I may not have already thought about)

Best to get the ball rolling now tbh. Put together a list of all your suppliers (utilities, local council, cable/sky tv, tv licensing, internet provider, banks, mobile company etc) and - irrespective of whether or not they are paid via dd - phone customer services and alert them to the impending move. Depending on where it is you're moving to, you may find that you may have a different utility supplier (e.g., water). So worth checking with current provider asap. Finally, don't forget to set up the mail redirection service (do it online via Royal Mail website).
