A couple of clicks on the internet and I can get more than £500 off my car insurance renewal!

Why do insurance companies bother to send out really uncompetitive renewal quotes? It's so easy to get car insurance quotes with all the comprison websites, do people really just renew without thinking?

Yes :) Same as there are people who have never changed utility companies since they were privatised. I'm pretty sure many companies rely on a core of lazy customers as part of their business plan.
