Anyone received a letter from Egg Card?

I received two identical letters today from Egg, (with whom I have one credit card), which says

"As part of our ongoing security activities to protect and safeguard your accounts, we have identified a potential security risk on your Egg Card.

To protect your account we have decided to block your card as a precautionary measure. Your card will be blocked on Tuesday 18 January 2011"

They go on to say that they will be sending me another card.

I was wondering whether the risk was to me specifically, or a general security risk.

So anyone else had a similar letter?

I've think I've had one before (about 2 years ago) from them (might have been other cc but pretty sure was Egg)

Apparently the issue was that my card had been compromised and someone had attempted to use the details to make a purchase which was declined because it didnt fit my usual spending patterns (was for £5000 and my limit was £2000 so unlikely to be me because I would know my limit)

However, a bit weird that they're not blocking it immediately. Maybe email them via their website to check.

Had one before xmas, verified it was genuine with them and new cards came out a few days later. Was very impressed with their security.

Thanks, I think I will send them a secure message just to check.
