Agree about Norwich Union they are pants.

We are with Budget now.

Gomez · 26/09/2005 14:13

Egg - pretty good.

Don't think you can claim 2 years discount thou'. needs to be the full 12 months.

munz · 26/09/2005 14:13

are they any good nutty?

don't know about u but all I got thru to was a call centre in india who didn't help me at all, they've messed up my DD's, every month i've paid by my debit card and now they've canceled the policy saying it's all my fault - WTF!!! it would be nice for them to tell me what was going on - not to mention the fact that my bank never had any records of them setting the DD up in the first palce!

Im with Tescos insurance.... but going to change as soon as poss.... they are crap!

Jackstini · 26/09/2005 14:15

Munz - go to confused.com. You do have to input all your details which takes a while but they check hundreds of insurers and get back to you with a list of everyone who will insure you and the quote. I have never failed to make a saving using them - 200 quid this year!!

nutcracker · 26/09/2005 14:15

Budget seem to be fine so far, only been with them a couple of mths though. They were loads cheaper than Norwich though.

Norwich messed up our Dd's too and then when we cancelled they said we owed them a months money. We told them to where to go.

munz · 26/09/2005 14:18

that's what i've just said!

JM - tried tesco - v expensive for me and I want to reduce bills! lol.

will give confused a look thou thanks. just hope I don't have any accidents gettin home.

bonym · 26/09/2005 14:44

Yep - confused.com is the only place you need to go.

munz · 26/09/2005 14:46

Jackstini · 26/09/2005 14:49

Oh dear Munz - I guess you did a very good job budget-wise when you last renewed! Who was next cheapest? They usually email you back a bit later with a whole list of options so have a look in an hour or so.

munz · 26/09/2005 14:54

erm sort of - just stuck with NU tbh jack, will look at the confused.com properly from home tonight and tak to DH about it.

JM - emailed u, that should get ur waters a breaking!

Hi Munz,
i am a sales manager for a commercial and car insurance company.
You will be able to state 1 years no claims dicount as they only cancelled second year round so they have to give docus to new insurers.
I had the same prob with NU so i told current insurers and they gave me my full discount, as i never actually renewed with NU, they just decided to do it for me and then take money from my bank.
Fortis are good for car insurance and so are the people that i work for, if you want a quote, then cat me and i shall do my best to get cheapest and most competitive for you.
Butty.xx

munz · 26/09/2005 15:19

oh thanks butty - i'll CAT you not if thats ok? - would I be eligable for the 2 years with ur company? i've secumbed to the idea of only 1 years ncb but it don't half miff me off thou!

OP posts:
butty · 26/09/2005 15:22

if you are cancelling mid term, then you can only apply to be quoted with 1 years no claims, thats if they will prove it for you.
If you want a quote, then feel free to cat me.
Butty.

munz · 26/09/2005 15:30

u mena NU might not even give me a letter for last years insurance? i'll be so miffed if that's the case. god wait!

what company do u work for?

OP posts:
butty · 26/09/2005 15:37

I work for the Business Insurance Centre Ltd in morecambe. We are a broker and work with fortis, axa, zurich and many more to mention.
I;m not too sure where you will stand with proving your no claims discount, i had to give my current insurers policy number and insurers details. They contacted NU for me to clarify the discount and they only confirmed 1 year, when i had 2 yrs!!!! But 1 year better than no years.!!!!

munz · 26/09/2005 15:40

well yes this is true - I really will be miffed off if I loose that first year with them - lord knows it!

ok, can you send me an email at [email protected] and let me know what it is you need. CAT takes some time normally.

misdee · 26/09/2005 15:44

i have found directline to be the cheapest each time.
