Ok, need to apply for a car worth about £3000. Am thinking of applying through Carcraft and Reg Vardy.

We have bad credit and so i think we will more than likely get turned down but just wanted to know, can i apply to both places at the same time or will that look bad ???

Also if i get turned down can i go back to them and ask if they will accept us with someone as garuntor ???

the more places you apply to the worse it will look

wouldn't you be better getting a loan?

nutcracker · 25/09/2005 20:53

Hmm not sure we could get a loan either

Hmm not sure what to do now.

Have seen a car we can afford on the reg vardy site but it doesn't tell you the weekly repayments. Car is £2999 and on the carcraft website (who have same APR rate) that is about £10 a week.

apply for one, if you get urned down then go to the other with someone as guarrentor.

have you tried welcome car finance? we have some bad credit but managed to get a car loan thru them.

starlover · 25/09/2005 20:55

give them a ring?
might be worth just asking their opinion before you apply.
just figured loan may be better as you'd get a lower interest rate

misdee · 25/09/2005 20:56

kath, we put her off yes ca credit and welcome the other night lol.

nutcracker · 25/09/2005 20:57

LOL Kath, thanks but i think everyone on here would lynch me if i got one through them

Right will discuss some more with dp, although all he says is 'yeah whatever you think'

We had a bad experience with a dodgy salesman at Carcraft. They said they would hold a car for us with a £200 fully refundable deposit. When we found a better deal elsewhere, the day after & rung to tell them - they tried to say that it wasn't a deposit we'd paid but the first installment on the car. If we cancelled, we'd loose the money. It took several phonecalls & letters copied to our bank before we got our money back.
I think they were being dodgy though as we were paying in full & not using their credit option, which I assume is where they make their money.

seriously i would consider going to arnold clark they aproved me or you could try the contract thing i mentiond on the last thread

nutcracker · 25/09/2005 21:09

Hmmm we were planning on using our old car as deposit.

The more i think about this the more i can see us ending up with no car at all.
