O2 Insurance on Watchdog tonight

I've been in dispute with O2 Insurance re the replacement of my DH's iPhone and getting nowhere, so contacted BBC Watchdog.

They're doing a piece about O2 Insurance tonight as I'm not the only person with the same problem.

You might see a pic of my DH with the crappy old phone he's having to use while waiting for his replacement iPhone.

Wish me luck.

Good lcuk, let us know how you get on :)

I missed it! What issues are you having? I have insurance that costs me £15 a month. Is it worth having?

Well Watchdog didn't do as much as they said they would, but basically DS has an iPhone 3G 16GB which is broken, and our O2 insurance (£10/mth} policy specifies a new for old replacement.

O2's problem is that Apple don't make the 3G iPhone any more. They initially promised to replace his phone with a 3GS, but that isn't made any more with 16GB storage, and they don't have any stock anyway.

After a bit of faffing about at their end, they've sent him a 'remanufactured' iPhone and we're not too happy about it.

Surely if your policy specifies new for old, and equivalent specification, thats's what we should have got?

Any advice? As far as O2 Insurance are concerned they've closed the claim. What else can I do?

We cancelled our 02 insurance when they put our excess up from £20 to £150.

I also had a broken White 32gig iPhone replaced with a black 16gig one because ofthe same issues. It is new though, I wouldn't have accepted a reconditioned one either.

We're now insured with lloyds bank.

Can't wait to go back to Orange tbh, 02 are wank.

My sons iphone broke last week and I was horrified to find the excess had gone up to £150 without me knowing.

O2 can send me emails, bills by post and text messages every few days about their stupid offers which I never want but somehow the important info goes astray. They have been really offhand and have more or less said "take it or leave it".

Like the OP we need a 16gb 3Gs so don't want to pay £150 for a crap option.
