Taking Children Abroad

Going through a divorce at mo. I have read I can't take kids out of the country without his permission - is this true?

It has always been my dream to have a better life abroad and more so now children are here. We discussed emigrating all the time during the marriage but he was never ready to.

He said he wouldn't stop me going (but I think he thinks that I have no chance of it ever happening and that's why he's agreed).

Does anyone know if I can get it legally agreed with everything else in my divorce process?

I have checked this out as it our long term plan to emigrate. Your ex can object and take you to court but then it will be up to the magistrate to decide. If you have what he/she see as valid reasons you may get permission to go even without the consent of your ex.
