Another CTC query

I have just been notified that I don't qualify for a childcare grant as (on paper) my artenrs income is above the threashold. CTC have said that to qualify for that I need to work at least 16 hours a week (This is how long I am at university and the exact number of hours od childcare we need also) - so NOW I need to be out of the house 32 hours instead of 12 hours to get the minimum help with childcare costs.

Is it just me or is this utterly illogical? I'm more gutted that I won't be able to have any real study time. This is my final year and I was hoping to try for a first but that just doesn't look possible now. I am very surely beginning to lose faith in Gordon Brown..

We both work too get no credits and are brassic!!!!!!!!

Where I ask are they helping working families and those studying too. We need to work to survive and pay the debt, but they make it so much more difficult.

We dont qualify for childcare, wtc, so no help in childcare which we also have to pay from our measly salary and the ctc we do get is 11.74 pw

It's utterly insane, Jamboure. Before tax my partner has to claim 18.600pa but as he is self employed and this includes travel expences of 1500+, tax and assets bought so the business can run he actually brings home around 10,000pa. And we cant appeal. How is anyone really supposed to raise themselves out of poverty in any real sense with this system? Only education will do that and my education is directly compromised because of it.
