British Gas prices to rise 14% - we are running out of fuel FFS!

Just read the headline that British Gas are increasing domestic prices from next week by 14%.

Just been doing my household budgets for the next 6 months which make GRIM reading. We spend so much on petrol/fuel/utilities.

The average household bill has risen by £200 per year over the last TWO YEARS alone!

We are running out of oil and gas! Help!!!

Solar power, anyone?

Actually, solar power is widely used on Indian Reservations in the US where they have no power plant nearby. It does have a high initial set up, but it does pay off over time!

look at uswtich.com

we have just changed to npower after the money man recommended uswitch and it is going to save us loads

It's so windy where I live that I often wonder why they don't have a small wind turbine on the top of each block to at least light the common areas and maybe partially heat the swimming pool. I've even thought wistfully about a small turbine on my terrace, and then on days with no wind I can feed egg to my ds and stand him in front of it.

QA: I am with npower actually - but the rises are across all companies.

u sure? that's who we're with - bollox to that they told my mate they weren't raisin prices for the next 16 months. we're definatly swoppin now to swalec.

munz · 09/09/2005 14:45

(what about electric - ours is £100 per 1/4 and we both work f/t!) that's bloody british gas.

AuntyQuated · 09/09/2005 15:03

npower told me that they weren't raising theirs yet too

according to uswitch, it depends where you are, they recommend different suppliers for different areas

AuntyQuated · 09/09/2005 15:03

elec!!!! £68 per month!!!!!

expatinscotland · 09/09/2005 15:05

Scottish Power has been ripping off its customers for years. Try £75/month for a pokey two-bed flat. Yeah. Bastards.

munz · 09/09/2005 15:07

es - I won't moan about my £100 per quarter for a 3 bed house any more then. Just switch to swalec - we pay £95 p/m combined and me neighbours on swalec pay £45 combined for the same house.
