Can anyone recommend a good mortgage company. I need to take a mortgage out on a house but I am hitting a brick wall as I've only owned the house for 1 month and I am being told I need to have owned the house for at least 6 months before they will consider a mortgage.

FFS I only want £50K on itAngry

sorry did you buy it straight out with cash and now want a mortgage on it?

Or have you inherited it?

Have you tried going to a good estate agency as they will have a broker who will know which companies will be able to help. Plus a lot of banks realise rates not avaliable through a branch to brokers only. ( I work for a bank and its v.annoying)

I'd suggest contacting an independent mortgage broker for advice. They get their fee from the lender rather than the borrower so it usually doesn't cost anything, and I've often found them a good way to bypass a lot of the donkey-work of finding the right mortgage.

get yourself a good broker, I've heard there are ways round this rule if you can find someone who know what they are doing.
