DD1's renewal arrived at DLA offices on 17th August. We've heard nothing yet.

i didnt realise renewals took as long Shock
have they wrote out to docs/other professionals as i have heard that drags the claim on a bit Sad

I'm not sure. We haven't heard anything at all, yet. They shouldn't need to write to anyone, as I sent all of DD1's reports since December 2008, including all of her recent Statmenting documentation. So they have Consultant reports, SALT reports, OT reports, Ed Psych Reports, Preschool reports, her final Statement of Special Educational Needs, which names a Special School as her placement. 26 documents in all, over 1.5" thick.

The only thing I can think of is

a) It is taking a long time to wade through the evidence.

or

b) They are writing to the Special School to ask their opinion. Which will hold things up loads because DD1 only started last week, and has done a total of 9 hours there so far Hmm

I don't know, to be honest. I mean, they all say similar things.

No concentration span (30 secs - 2 minutes)
Constant supervision
Demanding/attention seeking
Wobbly walker
Falls and injures so needs 1:1
blah blah blah.

I would have thought 'special school' would be a clue Grin

Mine was a 1st time app.
