DP wasn't paid last friday, someone at work cocked up and put in his account number wrong. On monday they promised to put in a bacs payment that hasn't turned up. They have now offered him a cheque, that we can't afford to go and pick up, so with post it's going to be at least a week until we see any money. I got tax credits today but most of that was eaten up by dd which I didn't cancel because they promised it would be there wednesday.

I get child benefit tuesday and we literally have £30 to get us through, including formula and nappies.

Is there anything we can do? I have no idea how we will manage.

Are those cheque cashing places very expensive?

I'm so fucking feckwits, it's dd's birthday on saturday too.

I would be asking for a cash advance....surely they have could do that?

Make sure you claim any expenses you incur because of this cock up from DHs employer.

have you spoken to your bank? They might be prepared to do something to help, especially if you have a cheque to pay in now.
