Mortgage application HELP!!!

Sexonlegs · 16/09/2010 10:55

Morning all.

We have had a mortgage for the last 9 years with Intelligent Finance.

We are selling our house to buy a new one, and are in effect porting the mortgage and needing to increase our mortgage by £70k.

They have said it will take 4 to 6 weeks to be sorted!!

Does this sound right? Anyone...

TIA

yes it sounds right. did you think it would be quicker?

Thanks Ruddy. I suppose I assumed it would be quicker as we are an existing customer and they know our finances inside out.

I just hope it doesn't hold anything up :(

well they'll need to value the new house as well. also check finances again as things may have changed, and lending criteria may have changed. and all the legal bits, new insurance etc.

4-6 weeks sounds a bit long really!! when i applied for mine i got it in 3 weeks. I used a financial advisor called Clive Harries from North Yorkshire who was excellent. really personal and a lovely to deal with. i suggest giving him a call, first call is free and it's always good to get a bit of advice. his number's 01609 781563.
