Just accepted an offer on dh flat which he has been letting for a few years. Its never been his proper residence so will be paying CGT on it.

When the money comes to us do we pay the CGT straight away or does it make part of the tax return next year?

it's paid as part of your tax liability next year. So if you complete now the CGT is payable by 31 Jan 2012.

So we just need to put it to one side then?

Thanks
