Child tax credits?

My dh is being made redundant at the end of September, which will drastically reduce our income. We have never been eligible for any family/working tax credits, but I think we will be on my sole salary(£30K).

I understand the deadline for applications for the coming year is quite soon, so should I apply with our expected income? After paying the mortagage we will be left with £200 per month for all other living expenses so every penny counts!

Thanks

Phone up and tell them you want to start claiming and yes tell them what you expect to earn for the financial year as a whole.

You can claim tax credits any time in the year. Its only the renewals that are done april-july.So you could wait till september to put a claim in.
