Hello everyone and welcome to the new thread for Round Two!

To recap, the basic rules are:
No chicklit
No abuse memoir type stuff
No horror
No hardbacks

Auto/biography is allowed as long as it?s not anything too obscure (or crap, obviously).

Chocolate to the value of about £2 each time.

Here is the list:
artifarti
aristocat
Dysgu
PistachioLemon
TheBuggerofSuburbia
stickylittlefingers
AgentProvocateur
LolaLadyBird
Itsjustafleshwound
pooter
muddleduck
LadyBee
FlyingMonkey
Maria2007
johnworf

johnworf is a new member so be nice!

As before, please email me at artifarti at hotmail dot co dot uk with the initials of your chosen book and author (e.g. ROTN by TH for Return of the Native by Thomas Hardy) so I can check there are no duplicates. I will assume all your name, address and chocolate details remain the same unless you tell me otherwise (johnworf, please send me yours)

Please do this on or before July 10th. Then I will email you all with the name of the new person you are to post the books to (we are reversing, for anyone that hasn't picked that up.)

No-one has indicated that they want to drop out so I am assuming not at the moment.
I have now read all the books so I am thinking about which was my favourite - so many good ones, a difficult choice.

Hello all,
Im a bit worried that my book for this month has gone awol. ladybee is it MIA? What should i do about it? I could find out what it was then send on another copy? Im sure i could get one for a couple of quid online somewhere - unless it is a rare ancient tome that is now festering in some sorting office somewhere.

Dysgu · 18/11/2010 19:51

I have still not received this month's book from PistachioLemon - not that I can complain too loudly as I was awfully late posting last month so maybe this is my come-uppance!

Anyone heard anything from her on any other thread?

stickylittlefingers · 19/11/2010 13:41

Hi Dysgu - I think it's PL that I post to (I'm not very good at remembering once I have a MN name and RL name to remember - too much for the poor old brain Confused) - but if I'm right, the book you'd be sent is quite a long one, so she may be still in the midst of things?

Dysgu · 22/11/2010 22:24

Still no book? Arti is it possible for you to email PistachioLemon and check that all is okay, please?

Dysgu · 22/11/2010 22:27

I can't find any posts from *PistachioLemon since she posted on this thread back in September?

Does anyone know if she has namechanged?

aristocat · 23/11/2010 14:24

Shock at no book yet Dysgu - have you sent PL a MN message. i hope she is ok.

arti i have posted the December book to you today as i had finished it and we all must be very busybusy this time of year Grin

artifarti · 23/11/2010 22:28

Have sent emails for those books MIA.

If anyone wants to get hold of me it's probably best to PM me as I don't check my arti email address very often.

Look forward to the book aristocat.

I think it's partly my fault that Ladybee is missing in action, as I was so late posting her the previous books. I did send her a packet with 2 books (Blush) so eventually I'm sure she'll pass them on but I'm the culprit here, not Ladybee :(

I too am thinking of posting early this month to Ladybee, as I've finished Arti's book very early (& loved it :)).

Maria2007loveshersleep · 24/11/2010 10:35

By the way, Arti, I've posted my comments on your book, hope you've seen them.

artifarti · 24/11/2010 20:20

Hello Maria - glad you enjoyed my book Smile. Will post on the thread presently.

Have been doing some chasing and unfortunately we'll be losing PistachioLemon for the rest of this round Sad. I am checking to see if she's okay to post on the book she has and keep her book in circulation (although will this confuse things - my brain hurts today, can't work it out...)

This means we are:

RespectTheDoughnut
Chandellina
JohnWorf
Maria2007
LadyBee
pooter
AgentProvocateur
stickylittlefingers
Dysgu
aristocat
artifarti

Will email stickylf with your address Dysgu.

pooter · 24/11/2010 23:19

AP, yours may be late this month (nothing new there Blush Sorry.

Guess what? Arti and I have discovered we both spent some time living in the same smallish place and know quite a few people in common (although she is a tad younger than me Envy) Isn't that weird?

artifarti · 25/11/2010 08:11

Haha, very weird! Unfortunately it is sounding like we were both swots good girls and so unlikely to discover we shagged the same 27 people in the village, which would have been funny now, looking back as old ladies! Unless I've got you all wrong, pooter... Wink

OP posts:
pooter · 25/11/2010 09:46

erm, no - you have the little pooter down to a tee. In fact me and my mates were called the 'square bears' by some of the less swotty types. Blush Im unrepentant Grin

aristocat · 25/11/2010 19:57

AgentP i have finished your book and liked it very much, thank you Smile

i have posted on the thread

stickylittlefingers · 25/11/2010 21:50

arti - you've not sent dysgu's address yet have you? Hope not cos I can't see it!!

Are you all snowed upon? It's very snowy here (dd2 came out this morning saying "well there's snow everywhere", very disapproving. Especially as she was sure she was due some presents (last Christmas obviously made an impression!). I've got some brilliant new boots as well which seem to be unslippable, touch wood...

How weird you two living in the same village!

Dysgu · 25/11/2010 22:27

No book - and no snow here either! Hopefully a book will arrive soon but unlikely to see snow this far south! To be honest, no snop suits me fine although I know the children would love it.

Looking forward to hearing from you Stickylittlefingers although how I will manage if PL sends a book too... might just have to hope for snow so the DP and girls can go out to build snowmen whilst I curl up to read!

stickylittlefingers · 25/11/2010 22:42

I will send as soon as I have the address Dysgu - this months (which you should have got til 1 Jan so presumably there must be some slack there) is much shorter and sweeter. Ooh and I'll need your choc prefs too, tho sure arti will send that too, she's vair vair efficient y'know...

I will send you some snow vibes too! I'm going now to make myself a packed lunch for once. Never normally arsed, but I think once I've made it to the office tomorrow I won't be wanting to leave again til hometime. If I were really good I could heat up some soup...

AgentProvocateur · 25/11/2010 22:48

Aristocat glad you liked my book.

Arti I have a bag of books waiting to go to the charity shop, including a copy of LadyBee's book. Is hers one of the ones that's MIA? If so, I can send it on to whoever's waiting for it.

Pooter no problem with book being late. I'm still only halfway through this month's book! I'll see if I can get a copy out the library so I can send it to SLF in time for her to finish it next month.

artifarti · 26/11/2010 08:17

Morning all

No snow here yet but very wintery urban scene out of the window - fox asleep on frosty roof and a cat chasing a squirrel!

I think we will have to take PL's book out, otherwise it is going to get very confusing with 12 books and 11 people. (Shame, it was a great read!) Or we could try and slot a new person into the space - what do people think?

slf - will send Dysgu's address now.

If no-one has any objections, I think I will start using the Mumsnet PM thingy to contact people. I think some people have set up special MN email addresses that they don't check very often (like me, haha!) If you PM someone they also get an email to notify them anyway.

Agent - I think it is the book that LadyBee currently has rather than the book that she chose that is MIA. I emailed her but will now PM.

OP posts:
aristocat · 26/11/2010 13:20

Dysgu am i right that you dont have a book to send on to me? Sad and my next book will be January

i am happy keeping with our 11 arti - it would be too difficult to add a newbie

no snow here either but very cold Smile

artifarti · 26/11/2010 13:31

Okay will tell Respect to send PL's book back.

Have PM-ed LadyBee too now. Have you received any books yet Dysgu?

OP posts:
stickylittlefingers · 26/11/2010 22:01

I could send my current one straight to aristocat, if Dysgu is already going to be receiving one from PL? Does that help or just confuse things? I'm thinking Dysgu is going to have to read an awful lot this month and it seems a shame to leave aristocat without books altogether.

I am ready to receive orders! I won't be posting til Monday in any case.

Dysgu · 27/11/2010 19:26

I have nothing to read Sad which means no chocolate Sad Sad

Of course, I have plenty of other books to keep me going, including Jude the Obscure for my RL book club which has proved something of a challenge really!

SLF if/when you post to me (this month or next) then I am happy with any chocolate as long as it does not contain peanuts or almonds.

Will PL be posting the book that was meant to reach me at the beginning of November? I'm afraid I cannot recall whose book I had last so am not sure whose book should be coming my way.

I seem to be the jinx of this book club... Hmm

artifarti · 27/11/2010 19:51

Don't wory Dysgu - I have passed on your chox prefs! No reply from PL about when she is sending your book on yet, I'm afraid. Also no reply from LadyBee.

Don't worry, I seem to remember that pooter is also a jinx. Grin

OP posts:
pooter · 27/11/2010 22:15

no - im not a jinx - it has been established that i do however, smell. Therefore i fully expect whomever is either side of me (ladybee and AP) to bow out at the soonest opportunity. Wink

chandelina it is your book that i am missing from LadyBee - could you PM me and let me know what it is so i can buy a copy to send on to AP? Thanks
