I joined Mumsnet today and would love to join in a bookswap if anyone has a space?

I love to read, anything and everything, and commuting to work 3 days a week means i get 25 mins each way to bury myself in a book.

I think I get the gist of how this works and would love to join a group if there is a space anywhere....

We have 5 lsts of books so far - how long do you think we should wait before starting or opening up the club to new members, if some have dropped off the list?

Hi I'm still on the list I hope.I am being a bit thick here I know - do we choose 4 of our own books to send out ?? Or give a choice of 4 just to send 1? What?? Sorry, help.
I get the bit about emailing my address I will do that now.

We're listing 4 of our own books so that people can say if they've already read one but I think the idea is that we'll only post 1 of them on the next person on the list. I think then the following month whichever book we recieved the month before we will send on again to the same person as last time. I think I've understood that correctly so if I'm wrong then please correct me.
hmmm...mudandroses - not sure how long we should wait, perhaps wait until this time next week and see how it's going.

I think that's right, Pink - haven't done this before but that's what I understood. Then, I think the point is to come back to the thread and discuss the book you've just read (and eventually everyone will be able to join in the discussion!)

I'm not ignoring the emails btw, keep them coming if you haven't sent your address yet!

Nowit Yeah think so, I read it a while ago (sorry v bad memory) but I like re reading books as I often discover I have forgotten most of the story.I wouldn't say its the best of all the Moles but def worth a read.
I'm really looking forward to this now.

I'm still around. I keep checking to see how we're going. I think we're waiting for some more people to list their 4 books and to confirm they're still in.

We could start without them; or we could re-advertise asking for new members??

My view would be to give it one last appeal for the ones we are waiting for, then re advertise but ask people for details asap and then get started towards the end of the week. But happy to go along with the flow !

I have re-advertised - feel a bit funny about it but if the original members come back we can always add people in I think?

Hi Buffty, McDreamy, ABatinBunkFive, welcome. As you'll have seen, you just need to email me your address and name to: out and about with k and j at gmail. com (all one word, obviously!) and I'll add you to the list.
Please also list 4 books you's like to send, so we have a chance to say whether we've read any before. I don't think there are any firm rules about what we won't read, but I think the groups seems to be leaning towards lit-fic and away from hardcore chicklit/horror.

Ok after having a look at my extensive jumble collection of books, it seems i favour chick lit above all else, or easy readers at least, if you want i'll still post a list but i'm happy to drop out if that's what's preffered.

Perhaps post your absolute fave(s) and those who aren't so into chicklit will hopefully come to see what it is you love about them! Hopefully we are all pretty open-minded!

If i may say so Cross stitch is the best, and not at all chick lit. Infact after some rummaging it turns out i have a few decent books and more than a few doubles I need to have a clear out!
