Anyone fancy joining a new book swap?

I was wondering if anyone fancied joining me in a new Book Swap. I was part of one on here for a couple of years that worked really well, then we all got a bit busy and decided to give it a rest. Now no-one on MN seems to do them anymore!

The idea is that you get a small group together (up to about a dozen) of people who enjoy reading similar genres or are prepared to try something new. Everyone then chooses a book they have enjoyed, that’s not really famous or a bestseller. On the first day of each month, you post your book to the next person on the list...and then the same again on the following month. We posted chocolate too last time but that’s not compulsory! The idea is that you get to read books you haven’t heard of, and chat about them if you want to.

Some of the books we ended up reading last time: The Water of the Hills, Cutting for Stone, The Snow Child, On The Black Hill, Prince of Tides, The Weather in the Streets, Any Human Heart, Cat’s Eye, A Month in the Country.

Just wondering if there's anything I can do to get the book swap moving again at the bottom end of the list I've not had a book since the third round which obviously means I haven't had anything to post on either. This has already impacted luckiest but will have a domino effect on the rest of the swap. My tiny brain can't quite work out how to resolve it.

Didn't TIG bow out in august due to family issues? She suggested FuckyNell post directly to you from now on. I wonder if she's got that info?

Oh no, didn't realise the books had stopped moving on. Perhaps that's why nobody has commented on my book since June. Thought people just didn't like it and decided to say nothing (could still be the case!).

Posting my book on again on Monday as my post office last collection is early on Saturday so it'd just be sitting around there all weekend and my post office is a little on the shambolic side so I can't guarantee they won't lose it before the next collection on Monday!

I will also be posting early on monday morning. Might message Fucky in a month since I post to her to see what's what.

Hello, Arti here in disguise. I messaged FuckyNeell/Cunties earlier in September and she said she would post directly to Hadme (I gave her the address). Guess she would have just received Sept book then so will hopefully forward it on this week. If not, will message her again. I don't really want to bug TIG because of her DD, so if she still has a couple of books, we might have a bit of a hole that moves along the chain. But hopefully things will move again with Cunties this month.

I think there are currently two books that are out of circulation - moocowmrs and bertrand's

(Arti here!) I have messaged TIG to see if we can the books sent on. If it doesn't look like it's going to happen then I'll work out which books are missing and try to get them back into circulation via the wonders of Amazon.

And thank you for suggesting this in the first place - it's so lovely getting a book and some chocolate every month :) I haven't read any of the books before either! Shame no-one likes my book but I don't care really

Okay...so TIG has got back to me and she posted the books on to HadMe a while ago. The Post Office is trying to track them down.

Who is without a book this month? I don't have one - who else?

Hi arti/furry, many thanks for chasing up. My postman lives in the next street and is generally really reliable so I'm assuming the problem has been at the other end
