Could this be viable or ectopic -advise wanted

I should be approx 5.2 today. Tested positive last Friday but didnt feel pregnant (have had previous successful and unsuccessful pregnancies) Am madly tired but no breast tenderness. Had small bleed with brown discharge Sat morning but tested positive 1-2weeks on Sunday, Went to GP on Tuesday and her test was negative so went into early preg unit yesterday where they took bloods and scanned. Couldnt see anything but bloods came back awith a hcg level of about 480. I have a sort of dull ache in my abdomen - not unlike at the early stages of pregnancy,but I dont know what to think. Could this have a positive outcome or am I fooling myself,

you need another test to see if levels are rising, has that been arranged? its not unusual to not see anything that early on a scan.

Thanks Mumatron, they are not testing blood or scanning until Tuesday so the wait is a bit agonising.
