Dont feel too well after erpc?

I had an erpc done last Wednesday and haven't really bled much since but am needing to go to the toilet for a wee constantly and feel there is always more urine to come out afterwards but there's not. Is this a normal feeling to have afterwards? Also my boobs are still so tender as they were when pregnant and tummy round, is this normal?

Hi Sue

Sorry you have had to go through this too.

I had my EPRC 3 weeks ago and I felt awful for 2 weeks afterwards. The tender boobs will be there until your hormone levels have dropped and the round tummy is swelling from the surgery.

I also had the same weeing problems - for me, when my period was due I always needed to wee more anyway so again I'm putting that down to hormones.

I'm still not fully recovered so it is important to remember that everyone is different and if you are worried about anything, call your GP.

Hope you feel better soon

Hi Sue. Sorry for your loss.

I would go to the GP on Monday. It sounds like you may have a UTI, totally unrelated to the ERPC, but maybe an infection as a result of the ERPC. My dr said 24 hours for hormone levels to drop, and its been 24 hours since my ERPC (yesterday) and my breasts are as big as they were before. I think it takes a while for them and for the tummy (which is swollen because your uterus grew in the pregnancy) to go down. Last time I had an ERPC this took around 5 weeks, but everyone is different.

Thanks velvetcu and banana for you replies,

sorry for your losses too, it's just crap isn't it, i have hit an all time low and can not think of anything positive at all this evening. After so many mc i really thought this was the one, my turn. I had lots of immune drugs and all was going so well with really high hcg's and good scans but then the heartbeat stopped again.

I thought i would bleed afterwards but dont seem to have much at all really, is this normal or could they have made a mistake and left bits beind still?

Perhaps i have got an infection, will see gp on Monday.
Thanks again ladies

I bled (bright red) quite a lot (3-4 towels a day) for 3 days then it got a bit darker for another 3 days then stopped. 4 days later I bled heavily (dark red + clots) for another 5 days and it has gradually got lighter but it still hasn't stopped. I don't have an infection and have just been told that it takes longer for some people than others.

Sorry if that's TMI but I really appreciated knowing from others on here exactly what had happened with them.

So sorry you have been through multiple mcs, this was my first pregnancy/MMC. I'm also feeling pretty low today - maybe there is somehing in the air.

sue so very, very sorry you are going through this again.

haven't had the symptoms you describe after erpc, but can you phone the gynae ward that did the procedure? they should be able to give you some advice.

and i didnt bleed very much after my first erpc.

thinking of you and hope you feel better soon, physically at least. xx

Hi velvetcu and mumatron,
thanks for your kind words. Sorry your feeling low asell v, i guess time will help.
Today i am in a lot of pain every time i wee, so i guess i must have an infection, am tempted to go to on call gp this evening as feel so crap but will try and sit it out till tomorrow so i can see my own gp. It's not dangerous is it to leave it for a couple of days if it is an infection?
Also my forehead is covered in spots, started when first got pregnant but is getting worse like acne, feel im infected all over!
Sorry for the ramble!

sue tbh i would see gp asap. the sooner you start anti b's the better. where you given any to take home after erpc? i wasn't given any after my last erpc, the nurse forgot. better to be safe than sorry imo.

take care of yourself sue x
