How long does it take an HPT to go negative?

Am 2 weeks post my 4th miscarriage, and my HPTs are as positive as ever.

I am going to get a blood test tomorrow, as the docs are worried about the risk of ectopic. Wondered if anyone had any cheering stories about how their tests were still positive at this stage withough being ectopic?

Thanks

Just bumping this - I'm not sure, but hopefully someone else will know. Sorry to hear about your miscarriage . Take care.

Sorry about your Miscarriage, especially as its your 4th

My tests were positive, I think, for nearly 3 weeks, I had to keep having blood tests to check HCG levels were falling and to make sure it wasn't ectopic. They were falling, but just slowly. However, I had a second bout of bleeding and the test was negative shortly after.

Its a very strange feeling after wanting so much for it to be a positive and then after the MC waiting so desperately for a negative.

i was positive for nearly 3 weeks following my ERPC. All negative now though, and no other symptoms.

thanks for your replies; am having scan this morning, as the blood test showed high numbers, so am keeping my fingers crossed until then...
