Hi,

Am just wondering if anyone can give me some advice.

I MMC in March - stopped bleeding, then a week later had a WTF period (very light, 5 days) So today I am day 28 from then. However, am not PG, no sign of AF, but lots of EWCM. I am wondering if my body had my WTF period and was slow getting bcak to ovulating. Is it possible I could be ovulating now? Would be good if I was!!

Thanks in advance xx

Hi Batteryhen

I had ERPC 2 weeks ago, bleeding stopped for a few days then came back again. I just don't think it was finished getting everything out so maybe you had the same?

Hope you get some positive news soon

Hi Batteryhen. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss.

Have you tried ovulation predictor sticks? You can buy them on the internet and they really do help to give an idea of when you're ovulating. Also can I recommend the website www.fertilityfriend.com as a great way to feel a bit more in control and focussed during such an emotional time. I too had a MC (which left me devastated)followed by months of frustration. I got quite addicted to the website until happily I finally conceived with dd.

I can give you more info if you're interested.

Fertility monitoring involves taking your temp every day around the same time before you get out of bed, then recording it on a chart. For this you need a basal body temp (bbt) digital thermometer that measures two points after the decimal point, for eg 36.63 instead of 36.6.

You also need to be comfortable checking cervical mucous by inserting 2 (clean) fingers into the vagina and sweeping them across your cervix to see what the consistency is.

The ovulation predictor sticks / kit (OPKs)also can indicate if you're about to ovulate, but these on their own aren't 100 accurate. Apparently the most accurate way to know if you've ovulated is seeing a "shift" in temperature (bbt). This isn't always easy to detect which is why using a website like fertility friend is helpful as you put in your details re temp, cm, opks and a whole range of other symptoms on a daily basis then they tell you when they think you might have ovulated. As I said earlier it can be quite addictive :-)

I got my OPKs from accessdiagnostics.co.uk You can also buy really cheap pregnancy tests there as well which look almost the same. In my vast experience of pregnancy testing the "Advanced" range for both seem to be the most accurate :-)

I really hope this helps.

Hi

I had similar after an MC at 12 weeks - 3 weeks after I stopped bleeding, I had a week of very very light bleeding that I thought must be AF. It came after lots of EWCM and I concluded that is must have been an anovulatory bleed. I ovulated around 3 weeks later - after that AF got back to its regular cycle.

So, the EWCM you see couldbe ovulation - gofor it

Am POAS like mad - BFN and neg on OPK too. Think I will have a go at temping, I just dont want to get too obsessed or I will stress myself out - but then I am stressed out thinking I am not ovulating...what to do!!??

Have beed SWI like mad this weekend too - DP lives away during the week so will next see him on ~Thursday - I think he feels all his birthdays have come at once!

Hi Batteryhen I've got a weird similar dilemma.

I am on about day 30 ish of bleeding (after a miscarriage, and an injection to hurry things along) and the bleeding hs eased slightly, I have EWCM, sore nips, spots etc. I'm hoping I'm ovulating, but I guess time will tell on that one.

It's very confusing, isn't it, when our cycles go odd.

I too have poas and no positive for ovulation, but I often don't get a positive off sticks.

batteryhen · 20/06/2010 20:59

hairy - I really do think that OPKs dont work for me. If I wasnt using them and going on what my body is telling me,then I would truely think I am ovulating.....

have cracked and ordered a BTT. Am also a member of fertility friend. Am now waiting to get completely obsessed by both!

Hi, sorry I'm a bit slow... what is POAS and SWI?

OPKs give you an idea when you are probably going to ovulate, usually around 24 hours before you actually ovulate so if you miss the moment when your LH has surged (which is easy to miss) they'll show -ve. You could still ovulate or have ovulated with a -ve opk test as the LH goes back down again just before you ovulate.

I found it helpful to start testing a few days before I thought I might ovulate, and to test twice a day because the surge might happen in the evening. Apparently the only way to know if you have ovulated is to see the temp shift, but again you need to be monitoring your temp for a good few days before hand to be able to see this.

My fertility problems revolve around the fact that I only naturally ovulate once or twice a year so I found it all a bit complicated at first as there didn't seem to be any clear pattern, but it did get easier and I'm convinced that's what helped me conceive.
