When to TTC after MC with D&C

I had my first miscarriage on Monday at 11+2 which was the day before we were to have our dating scan. We already have two DD's so are very lucky to have them but I just feel so empty and sad.

The experience was fairly physically traumatic and I ended up being in hospital for 3 days.

My DH is keen that we try again soon but I am terrified in case it all happened again.

The hospital advised to wait until we were ready both emotionally and physically - one doctor suggested at least one cycle and another said 3 months.

When have people tried again and were they successful?

So sorry for your loss . It's a really hard time, take it easy on yourself as much as you can.

I had the ERPC (D&C) at the start of January. They recommended waiting for one period before ttc, but that was for dating purposes. So as soon as the bleeding stopped, we started ttc again (we don't have any DCs yet).

In March I got pregnant again and am now 14 weeks, it looks like it is going ok. So for me, I had two cycles post mc.

Hope this helps a little. I think it is worth getting back to full strength, but at the same time I remember how desperate I was to get pregnant again - so, I guess it just depends on how you feel. But I don't think there's any reason to wait if you want to start straight away (unless you have been told to wait for a medical reason) - just wait until you've stopped bleeding to avoid infection.
