Tampons for period after an ERPC

I had my first ERPC yesterday after opting for natural management with my first two losses and was surprised that they told me not to use a tampon for my first period after the ERPC.

Obviously I know to use towels for a mc and for the post ERPC bleeding but have never seen anyone mention that tampons are a no-no for the period after an ERPC.

Anyone else been told this? I use a mooncup not tampons but hate using towels.

dont remember being told that.

how are you doing anyway claire?

I'll revert to mooncup next period then!

I'm OK thanks, just fretting about my temperature because you need something to fret about always don't you? It's dead on 37c (taken orally with my old ttc/charting thermometer) and they told me to worry if it was over 37. But I've had IV antibiotics and now on another 3 types of oral so I think I'm worrying just for the sake of it!

I wasn't told this, I was just told to not use them for the bleeding following the ERPC. You should be fine to use a mooncup during your next period.

I have had 3 erpc's and have never been told this or heard about it anywhere else
Sorry for your loss Claire
