Hello all, I had a mmc in March and only stopped bleeding last saturday after 8 weeks of bleeding follwing a medical management. Everything has been ok until yesterday when I have started spotting a bit TMI alert - its not fresh blood, but more light brown, and not very heave at all. I have had a bit of cramping and thought maybe AF was coming..... Any words of wisdom - is this normal - my HCG levels are now 2 which is good, and got BFN this morning. Very confused !!!!

Hi Thanks for bumping my post. I have convinced myself that it is my first AF and so its all systems go for me

Sorry to read about your MMC BH and that you've had such a crap time with the physical aftermath. I was diagnosed with one a few weeks ago at our first scan (twins). I seem to have fallen down the natural management route and think most of the physical symptoms have now stopped and it's over.

Have an appointment at the EPAU on Friday for (fingers crossed) the all clear. I hope you don't mind if I ask - how do you know your HCG levels? They don't seem to check them where I live.

I smiled when I read your "all systems go" - really hope we cross paths again on a more positive thread in the future!!

Good Luck

Hello MummyMcKT,

Your situation is exactly like mine was - I was expecting twins too, which would have been lovely - but not to be. I had the medical management, but it didn't really work - thats how come I was bleeding for 8 weeks, my body just refused to be rushed.

I had my HCG levels done with my GP. The hospital didn't seem concerned. In fact the nurse at the hospital did a pregnancy test on me which was negative, and said well your HCG must be below 10 to have a neg test, but we will scan you any how - surprise surprise there was about 2cm of retained products. I had my HCG done at my GP the next day and it was 33.

In total it took around 6 weeks for my Hcg levels to come down and another 2 weeks on top of that to stop bleeding. If you want your HCG levels - ask- if they are reluctant just say it will give you peace of mind - that should do the trick. Then if you ask for them at your GP a week later - you can compare. Good luck, let me know how you go xx
