First period since mc and feeling unwell

I got my period today- the first one since the miscarriage. It is 29 days since the mc started so actually the same as a normal cycle which is not what I expected- I thought it would take longer to get back to normal? Has anybody else experienced this? Also, I feel really unwell, very sick and headachy and tired. Is this normal do you think?

Yes, I felt the same way, woozy and sick, my period was also quite heavy, but the 2nd period was mostly back to normal. How are your iron levels? I was exhausted and very pale and had a blood test via the docs and got supplements to take.

Okay, that's good to know,thanks and maybe I should get my iron levels checked out. I don't eat meat so I'm never sure if I'm getting enough iron normally.
Yes I have got lots of support here on MN it has been a real lifeline to me, especially as it feels like in RL no-one really gets what I am going through.

I thought mine would take longer to come back too, but it was right on the button at 28 days. It was heavier and I felt very tired still, but got better.

Are you taking prenatal supplements and/or iron? Also you can ask your GP for a prescription for 5mg folic acid, if you are concerned. It can't hurt.

Thanks MimsyStarr- I am taking folic acid still as we want to try again. Maybe I just need to take it easy for a few days.
