Bleeding after ERPC?

I have posted on here a week ago - thanks for all the lovely responses. Anyway, had an EPRC yesterday and the consultant said all went well. She told me to expect heavy period type bleeding as did the hospital nurses. DH then went off to Boots only to emerge with Tena nappies for incontinence (did not go down well in my overly hormonal state - ffs, I am 34 not 74).

The thing is there has been bascially no bleeding or cramping at all. Just like a very light period on the last day. Is this normal? I almost want a bit of gushing so I can be sure it is out and over. Want to move on so badly.

What sort of bleeding did other people have who had an ERPC?

(maybe I should add it was a mmc discovered at 8 weeks but growth stopped at 6 weeks).

Grapenuts I had an ERPC yesterday too, and am having similarly light bleeding at the moment. I would say the first day was reasonably heavy, now the bleeding is almost done. I've been taking it very easy and suspect that when I've got DS to look after during the weekend the flow will start up a bit more.

But it's definitely less than I expected and I'm not in any physical pain either.

Do you have a follow-up scan organised? The hospital called me today to say that I would have one in two weeks to check things were ok.

Sorry that you are also going through the grimness that is ERPC. Still no bleeding on my side. I am exhausted though. Had the morning off and was going to relax in the afternoon but DH had to go back to work and I had to look after the DC for a few hours (too many). Thought I was going to collapse at the end. I think it is the exhaustion of the general anaethetic and the emotional stress of the last week.

Having heard about your follow up scan, I want one too. I was not offered one. That is a new stress for me now! I am just so hoping my periods will return quick, I will get pregnant soon and I can move on from this whole horrible thing.

Hi grapenuts, I'm sorry I had to smile at Tena nappies - I can just imagine my DH doing the same!

I've had two ERPCs - last one on Thursday - and very light flow for both (both ended around 5/6 weeks like you). I had a bit of a gush when I first stood up after the op, but just a trickle since then - day 3 today and it is all but over.

Last time I waited 9 weeks before I got my first period but people say it can be different every time, so I'll see how it goes!

i have had 2 erpc aswell, and had very little bleeding after the first, slightly more after the second.

it is completely normal.

after the first my cycles returned after about 4 weeks but after the second took longer iirc about 52 days.
