Hi there, I have had 3 MC's One before my DD and two in the last year. I have been referred to my local hospital for tests. What should I be asking for when I get there? I feel this is going to be a long drawn out process and think I should be going and asking as many questions as I can...thanks.

hi there, very sorry that you are going through this.

firstly, in my area you need to have 3 recurrent mc before you can have testing on the nhs, so you are quite 'lucky' at being referred after 2. (obviously not lucky to be in the situation but i hope you know what i mean)

the nhs has a fairly standard set of tests they will run. i will link to a list of the blood tests you ill probably have done. you might want to print them out or make a note of them so you can be sure you get them all done? tests
and prices if you were to go private, scroll down page

you will probably be offered a scan to check your tubes/uterus etc as shown in the link above.

theres is also a thread here with a few of us at various points of having these tests done.

hope you dont have to wait too long for a referral.

take care x

mumatron, thank you so much for this. I have been fortunate and got an NHS appointment next week. I will let you know how I get on and also have a look at the thread. Thank you again. Although I hate to think of anyone else going through the same anguish that I am it's nice to know that I'm not alone.

oh your definately not alone here

i have had 4 mc in a row after 2 dc so i know what you are going through.

make a lost of all the things you feel are relevant. my list was basically, history of previous pg's, info on cycles and mid cycle bleeding etc, family history (my mum was recurrent miscarrier too) and other health issues that i felt could be related.

if i hadnt taken the list the only thing i would of been asked about was the previous pregnancies.
