Hi

So sorry for your loss. Not sure if stillbirth would cause factor v leiden - probably FVL influenced stillbirth. It is a clotting disorder. So, if clots formed on the placenta, the placenta may have stopped functioning efficiently. I hope you get ll the answers you need.

sh77 I took it to mean she has had a stillbirth and then been tested afterwards

I have Factor V Leiden. I have had 7 mc's most of them before 8 weeks but one was late on roughly between 18 and 22 weeks.

DS1 was born early due to an eclamptic seizure I had and I suffered a stroke afterwards.

inbetween DS1 and DS2 I had mc's and tests, they found I had factor V leiden and gave me aspirin and fragmin(heparin) throughout the preg and for 8 weeks afterwards and he was born full term with no problems

I have since had 2 mc's but I am now undergoing more tests because they think it is something more than FVL.

I am sorry for your loss and if you need to ask more questions then please ask.
