Anyone got any idea of the wait time on an NHS referall to the recurrent miscarriage unit at St Mary's Hospital?

MC no 3 on the weekend, but got told not to try again until seen by the unit (got appt at my gp for referral letter tomorrow)... DP isn't the patient type!

thanks.

Thanks... I'm pretty sure we're within the catchment area, dr at today's scan (at st mary's, to check all pregnancy products passed) only mentioned gp, and we're within 25 min walk, so guess must be ok. I'm sure gp will tell me tomorrow if not.

Thanks for the info re times.... don't think i'd be pregnant within 6 weeks anyway, though i would normally have hoped to be pregnant within the following 10. Guess I can see their reasoning though.

Definitely gives me some answers... really appreciate you making time for that.

And, of course, though I appreciate the sympathies, you must have travelled a similar (or worse) path to have been there already.. i hope things get/got better.

Hi Mayfair Mummy,

I know someone on another site who was referred to St Mary's from out-of-the area, think she had to wait a couple of months. She had had her first appointment and some blood tests and became pregnant while waiting for other tests, they were helpful about it. One of the blood tests (a "thromboelastogram") is only done at St Mary's, and identified a problem with this lady's blood clotting.

There are some tests, e.g. the HSG where they put dye into your womb/tubes, that you mustn't be pregnant for.

I have been there privately and found them very thorough and considerate.

Hope your wait isn't long.
