Spotting between periods after mmc

Hi all i wonder if anyone can help me. As some of you already know i had a mmc last october that went on for 10 weeks and i ended up taking misoprostal in the end which eventually resulted in a complete mc. I was scanned and given the all clear. Had my first period in january which was very long and heavy but in the weeks after i had spotting on and off with some days being lighter than others. I went to my gp and he did a very thorough internel and found i had deep thrush and a slight infection. I was given treatment for all this and have since had my 2nd period which was very painful and heavy but not as long. I finshed about a week ago and again i am getting very very light spotting but also some random cramping. I also have ibs so its sometimes hard to tell if the pain is the ibs or my uterus. Has anyone had any similar experiences to this. I would be very greatfull for any help or advice. Thank you.

It sounds as though you have really been through it

Have no experience of misoprostal so can't comment on any potential impact that might have on your system.

I had a MMC last August and an ERPC. I found this had a substantial effect on my cycles in terms of varying and erratic length, but also I found I had some spotting mid cycle. At the time I thought it might be implantation. I just think your body takes a while to readjust. I got pregnant again on cycle 4. Sadly I have had another MMC and am awaiting another ERPC.... here we go again!

Hope you get some answers and resolution to your situation soon.

Hi daisytaylor. I'm very sorry for your loss and the fact that you're still having issues. Oddly enough, your experience sounds virtually identical to mine aside from the fact that I haven't been given misoprostal.

I had a natural miscarriage in October that was quite horrific and, like you, didn't stop bleeding for 10 weeks. I had various scans, internals and was given 2 lots of strong antibiotics in case it was due to an infection. The ultrasound showed no rertained products and my hcg levels were at zero. In short, no one could give me any advice other than it was nothing to worry about, but I'm rather impatient at the best of times so decided to put myself out of misery and go back on the pill for a month. The first real period seemed relatively normal, but the 2nd has been utterly bizarre. I had pains for a week, 5 days of spotting in the days prior to the date I expected my af(leading me to hope it might be implantation - no such luck) followed by a period which is ridiculously heavy/ crampy and reminiscent of the miscarriage. I can only assume that our bodies take a while to get back to normal but it's very frustrating. Have you been charting at all? Only reason I ask is that I'm ttc and I know I haven't ovulated at all since my miscarriage. I'm wondering if all this pain and nasty clearout is due to hormones readjusting themselves and things finally resuming normal service. I'm not sure any of this helps as we still have to wait, but I hope it's a bit of comfort that you aren't alone!

Hi jollster i am so sorry you are going through it all again, this was my 4th loss.

Hi tads thankyou for sharing your experience with me, yours does sound very similar to mine. My symptoms don't seem to be as bad as last month but having never had this problem before it does worry you doesn't it. I was too thinking that because i had such a bad time it maybe my body trying to return to normal. I haven't been charting as i am going to wait until i feel my body is more back to normal plus i wanted to wait at least 3 cycles first as my doctor recommended.

Hi

I'm in the same boat. In fact I have just done a p/g test as I was so convinced I was p/g because of the cramping and spotting I have been getting since Tuesday. My af is due tomorrow. This will be my second af after the ERPC. Our bodies are so cruel to us. On the plus side at least I can go to the roller disco tonight!
