Bleeding after ERPC

I had an ERPC about three weeks ago and am still bleeding. After a lot of pain early on and some really heavy bleeding, it's now pretty on and off and I've got no pain at all. Saying that, I passed a largish clot on Saturday.

Is this right or should I get back in touch with the hospital? They did tell me it was a more 'difficult than normal' procedure (I think because it was twins).

I'd be really grateful for any advice.

If possible go back for a scan to check. I continued to bleed for quite some time and was told that it can take up to 3 months for the bleeding to stop. I eventually could not handle the bleeding any more and they then discovered that they procedure had missed some tissue.

Push for a scan to check.

Hope it all goes OK.

Sorry to hear about your mc. I miscarried last October and only stopped bleeding beginning of January. I went in for a scan the end of December and was told my womb lining was still thicker than normal, but not worth doing anything about. Was told my next period would probably be really heavy and that hopefully that should shift anything that was left. They also prescribed antibiotics just in case I was infected. I had been back to see gp twice before they finally gave me a scan after nearly 3months of none stop bleeding though.

Try and get your GP to refer you for a scan, I felt much better knowing what was going on even if nothing needed to be done.

I have since had a very heavy period with a few final clots and things have now settled down. Hope you get it all sorted soon.

Just remembered, I was also anaemic and needed iron tablets due to ongoing bleeding, so get them to check your iron levels too. I couldn't understand why I felt so exhausted!
