Could it be my period 4 days after 2nd erpc

Hi all - I had my 1st erpc on 3rd November then had to have a 2nd erpc on 16th December because they had left some retained products, quite alot actually. 2nd erpc felt totally different. 4days later 20th December, I started bleeding and bleed for a week, blood was red in colour, not the horrid dark brown I was so use to seeing.

I was wondering if this could of been my period or do you think it was too soon after the erpc. I done a pregnancy test just before my 2nd erpc which showed up negative so other then the retained products my body and hormones had gone back to normal. Does anyone have any advice or has gone through something similar. Do you think this was my 1st period after my erpc?

Absolutely no scientific knowledge, but I don't see how it could be a 'proper' period iykwim - four days is not enough time for uterus lining to renew to a sufficient level to produce a proper period. I may be completely wrong, however.

I don't think it's uncommon to bleed after an erpc though. are you still bleeding or physically suffering? Have they told you to wait till you have a period before TTC again?

I had a similar experience to you in that I had my erpc, bled for a couple of days, brown as you describe, seemed to stop bleeding and then started again a couple of days later, bright red this time.

For me I think it was that I rested for a few days and then went back to work. I think the increased activity just started the bleeding again.

I don't think it would be your period for the reasons Hopefully describes above.
