How long does the back pain last for once bleeding has started?

I'm just miscarrying for the 2nd time at 4+4 weeks. I had an ERPC for the last one in november at 10.5 weeks, so not sure what it feels like when it happens naturally.

I've had low grade back pain since I peed on the stick 3-4 days ago and bleeding started this morning. The pain was quite intense yesterday evening. Paracetamol isn't really touching it and I would describe it as mild to moderate but constant. is this normal or should I be thinking ectopic?

I had 2 confirmed miscarriages and one suspected before having my 3 kids, the first 2 were dealt with by ERPC and the 3rd just felt like a very heavy period with stronger cramping, more bleeding and clots and lasting a bit longer. The 3rd was never confirmed as a mis as I had only just suspected that I might be pregnant(approx 7weeks)and hadn't done a test when I started bleeding.

I would suggest that if you are worried see your Dr or midwife who can arrange a scan. It might be a straight forward miscarriage, it could be ectopic. Just one thought, are you sure that you are not still pregnant, I only say this because I had the same symptoms as you at 7.5 wks with my third child, had an emergency scan and discovered that I was still pregnant. I had a rough pregnancy after that but DS2 is now 3yrs old and full of mischief.

Good luck

I think I am still pregnant as I haven't lost any clots yet. The line was very faint when i tested 2 days ago and then possibly fainter again yesterday. DH trying to track down another test so i can see what's going on with HCG levels (ie what direction they're going in). I'll call the EPU tomorrow when they're open again. I still have the back pain and I'm wondering if my bleeding has slowed down. DH back to work tomorrow and I have a 3 year old and an 18 month old to look after
