I would love to meet anyone who has had several miscarriages and would like to talk and share experiences over tea/coffee and cake or whatever. I've no idea if anyone would be interested but thought i'd test the water. I'm in central London and would be happy to organise something in January if anyone is interested. recurrent miscarriage can be a very lonely experience, even if loved ones are supportive. only those who have gone through it quite understand the despair and it would be good to have some sort of support group in real life.

Hello! Can those who have 'only' had one mc come too? I'm also central London. MN has been amazing following the mc but it would be fab to speak to people in RL.

kissmummy · 29/12/2009 20:42

of course! let's see if anyone else responds and take it from there. i'd be happy to meet anyone who's been through miscarriage of any sort. i feel there is a real shortage of support out there.

I am having my first mc and agree with the lack of support in RL. Good idea for you to do a meet up

tigerbear · 29/12/2009 20:59

Oh good, let me know when / where. I agree, in RL it is even hard to talk about it with friends/ family I know have gone through mc's. Sometimes it would be good to chat to others who don't already know me, ifyswim?

tigerbear · 29/12/2009 21:02

Poppy, sorry you're going through this - how many weeks were you? (hugs)

right ladies, how are we going to take this forward? perhaps the easiest thing is for me to give you my email address, which is [email protected], and if you're still interested please email me asap and i'll set up a group email and we can fix a date that at least two or three of us can do?

MrsGazebo · 06/01/2010 22:40

Hey Northlondon and Poppy how are you both doing?
I was on Aug thread too. Xx

Sunburntats I'm ooouup 'North too, Liverpool.
Where are you?

northlondonchoclover · 07/01/2010 19:38

Hi MrsGazebo,

Sorry to see you here too When did you MC?

x

MrsGazebo · 09/01/2010 13:35

Hey northlondon how you doing?
I mmc again, found out on Wed at our 3rd scan.
(5.5 weeks and 7.5 weeks little fluttering heartbeat)
9.5 weeks consultant said the flutter must have stopped days before.
Had ERPC yesterday.
It is the furthest we've ever got though so I suppose that's something?!

Rather pissed off at the moment!

Allthe8s · 09/01/2010 14:40

Hi to all you ladies, I am sorry you are having a pants time especially over xmas and what should be a nice start to the new year. MrsGazebo Northlondon and Poppy I was on the Aug thread too.

I had late mc in May 09 at 21 weeks with dd2. Am 7+3 today but at my scan yesterday I was measuring 6 weeks with slow heart beat. Sonographer said it's likely I'll miscarry before my next scan (this coming thurs) and I am having dullish aches today and more spotting so I think it's already happening.

Am here if anyone wants to chat, would like to meet up too but I am a childminder and getting time off is not easy x

northlondonchoclover · 09/01/2010 19:39

Ah, so many of us ex-Aug thread. It is just so heartbreaking. I try not to look at that thread anymore.

MrsGazebo - I am so so sorry to hear about your little bean. I have yet to see my babies in a scan or hear any heartbeat (my 2 Mcs were 5.5w, 7.5w) and still I am devastated by the MCs.

Hi, Allthe8s - I am so sorry to hear about your scan today, and about your late MC last year. Is this your second MC?

I just got a confirmaion of my first scan a few days ago - Feb 1st! Would have been 13 weeks. There is just something wrong with this system where I have to wait till 13 weeks to be scanned! Not that it matters, the baby is gone now.

BTW were you taking baby aspirin/heparin/ other supplement besides folic acid at all?
I have an appointment with my GP next week and going to get her to do some blood tests - I can't seem to carry the bean past about 6 weeks.

Allthe8s · 09/01/2010 20:13

Northlondon this will be my second although not much has happened tbh today in the end, but I feel totally wiped out.

I am so sorry about your little beans, it's just so heart breaking and takes over your life. I feel like last year was a complete waste of a year, I don't want to be like it this year!

I have only ever taken Sanatogen mum to be supplements, my first pregnancy was completely normal and I delivered full term. Second time I spotted from 10 weeks, waters broke at 17 weeks but I stayed pregnant until 21 weeks but I just bled horrendously for reasons they couldn't work out. I had the most horrific time in and out of hospital over 4 weeks developed infection and almost bled to death during labour. After examination of the placentaI they confirmed I had a retroplacental bleed which they think caused an infection between the amniotic sac and uterus which caused the prom and all the bleeding. Total bad luck. This time round there seems to be development problems so not linked.

Ask your GP for bloods, well demand!!! I had tests for anticardiolipids/clotting and lupus. All were normal.

Big hugs to you x

northlondonchoclover · 09/01/2010 20:24

Oh dear, it sounds like you had the most horrible experience.

Where are you based if you don't mind me asking?

Allthe8s · 09/01/2010 20:30

Surrey/South East London but am under St Georges, who have been great.

northlondonchoclover · 09/01/2010 20:33

A few of us meeting up next week in central London, if you are interested.

Allthe8s · 09/01/2010 20:37

would love to but I am a childminder and I can't get any time off at the moment plus I have the hospital on Thursday. If you meet up another time I would be interested (if I can get time off work). It's good to talk to others face to face about it.

northlondonchoclover · 09/01/2010 20:45

Will let you know when our next meeting will be. I am looking forward to meeting and talking to other women who have gone through the same experience because people who have not been through MCs just do not understand how it feels, no matter how well-meaning they are. Good luck for Thursday, fingers crossed for you.

xx
