Am gutted, so very emotional. How long will it take to get going if it is a m/c?

Don't assume the worst. I bled from 5-8 weeks and times it was far more than spotting, including the odd gush. Carried baby to 40+5 and now have a very healthy 13 month old DD. I went to the EPU and had an early scan and they could give no reason for the bleed. If you are without pain things look a bit more positive. For some reassurance you could ask your GP for blood tests 2 days apart to look at the rising HCG levels, they should double (approx.) every 48-72 hours if everything is going ok. You can also have an early scan. My EPU did these from 7 weeks. Try and stay positive. Fingers crossed.x

No advice but bumping so that someone that does sees this

Yes it might not be, have you called NHS Direct for advice.

I spotted with both mine, what colour is the blood, bright red or browny red?

You must monitor the blood loss and any pain if you have any.

I agree about having HCG blood tests. As you are 5 weeks, may be implantation bleed. Don't lose hope until you have been checked. Scan may not show much at this stage and so insist on blood tests.

Trafficcone · 05/12/2009 22:17

sh77 implantation bleeds occur 5-9 days after conception, so at 3wks pg....

But to the OP, bleeding and spotting can be perfectly normal so try not to worry..

I bled at 6 weeks but was dark red not bright red, gp seemed to think this was encouraging, even though I had cramping too. Gave me co codamol for pain relief and told to return if passed any clots. Had to wait until nearly 8 weeks to scan me. Could ask your gp to monitor your HCG levels.

Have spent the night changing pads and checking. Sadly it's bright red and full of clots which is surprising because I am really quite early on. I feel that it's gone but will contact GP as NHS 24 won't emergency scan me unless I haemorrhage. No serious cramping but a definite heaviness in my thighs and abdo, just like a heavy period. Just feel so gutted because haven't had anything since ectopic 4 odd years ago. Thanks for all the support, haven't been able to tell anyone but DH, Sis and Mum.

Just had that today macman, i am 9 weeks, had bleeding like period on Thursday night, keep bleeding like a period at the moment, went to A&E today they did a scan at the EPU pregnancy seems not to have progressed and they want to wait a week and do another scan at the EPU. Bit worried but have resigned myself to what ever will be will be sort of thing.
