Hi! I had a miscarriage at 14 weeks in March. Went to hosiptal for the mc and it took me 4 days for the doctor to took the baby out. Caught an infection afteward. Went to emergency D&C operation to clear the infection out.

Doctor told me to wait 3 monhts before trying for another baby. I had a fertility tests 2 months ago. Everything was fine, except my progesterone level was low, this means there's no ovulation. Did another blood test last month, no ovulation again. I have been searching on the internet about ovulation. After the mc, I do not have the symptons of ovulation, eg, egg white discharge, like what I used to had.

If there's no ovulation again this month, my GP said she has to send me to see a specialist.

I am very worried and scared. I do not know what is happening to my body. I do not drink or smoke. I do not know why there's no ovulation, lost the baby is very upsetting me. And now I have no ovulation.

Anybody got this problem after mc? Any advice?

Thank you!

Has the doctor told you why your progesterone is low? Your lack of ovulation could be caused by high prolactin, which supresses the hormones necessary for ovulation and leads to low progesterone. After ov, your progesterone is supposed to increase.

Have you noticed any symptoms such as milk from your boobs, mid-cycle or irregular periods or headaches?

I was diagnosed with high prolactin. Was given tablets and my ovulation was fine. I conceived twice. If you have high prolactin, it is very easy to sort out. I say you oush your doc to test you for this.

Let me know if you have any other questions about it.

Also, just because you do not have egg white discharge does not mean you are not ovulating. Are you using ovulation predictor kits or charting your temperatures?

Thank you for ur message sh77. I feel better after reading ur message. The first fertility test I did was included the prolactin level. My GP told me that the average % of prolactin is around 520% and I was over 1200% and the progesterone was below the average 31%. It was 29%. something. Did another test for prolactin a week later and then it went back down below 520% which is normal.

And then the test I took last month, the progesterone was only 23%. My GP said I had no ovulation.

No milk from my boobs, no headache but have regular period.

My GP said everything is fine. I had no problem to conceive last time, there should not be any problems in the future.

I did use ovulation kit to check my luteinizing hormone and i did have positive results in the middle of each cycle. Have done measuring the body temperature as well.

Everything seems normal.

Except the progesterone was below the average. this means there's no ovulation. This is what I don't understand. this is why my GP said she has to send me to see specialist.

If everything is normal, why there is no ovulation?

Nurses found out there's something wrong with the baby when I went for the 12 scan last time. The consultant told me it only happen 1 in 2000 cases. this's very rare.

And now, no ovulation. I don't know why there's so many rare things happen on me!

I am sorry you have so many unanswered questions. It is frustrating. What I don't understand is how/why your prolactin almost halved in a week - this makes no sense. Even with tablets, my prolactin did not fall so quickly. I don't know if it is worth having it repeated once more for peace of mind.

Did you notice your temps fall around the time of your positive ovulation test - if yes, that means you have ovulated? The fact that you have a positive test is a good sign. I could be wrong but low progesterone does not necessarily mean that you have not ovulated. It means that implantation would be difficult to sustain.

Also, have you thought of alternative therapies such as accupuncture? I think i could help. There is another forum I use. The trying to conceive section has many many posts on progesterone issues: babyandbump.com

sh77, i just got the blood result today. I had no ovulation this month again. The progesterone level was only 20%. Two months ago, it was 29%, last month 23%. It is getting lower and lower.

GP told me not to worried and refer me to see specialist.

I have no idea why my prolactin could drop so quick within a week. I have to do another blood test for this this month. Make sure it is normal.

I am very upset. Without seeing the specialist, no other tests can be done, don't know what is wrong with me. What can I do while waiting to see the specialist? It will take 9-12 weeks to see the specialist. What can I do?

Hi gagagirl

Sorry top hear about your ovulation results. It is good though that you have foundn out and that you will be seeing specialists to sort it out. I know the wait must be very frustrating. I really don't know what to suggest as I only know about prolactin issues. When is your next prolactin test?

Have you done any research on herbal/alternative remedies? Did you post on the link I told you about as you might get more tips?
