Possible miscarriage at 5 weeks?

I am 5.5 weeks pregnant, I found out last monday and I was having pregnancy symptoms before that. From Friday night I had about 36 hours of bad back pain and cramping. Since then all my pregnancy symptoms have completely gone. I don't feel at all pregnant now. However I haven't had any bleeding.

I saw my GP this morning who was very nice and said it is good that I am not bleeding but that the other signs aren't necessarily good. She said she could refer me for a scan but that it was likely to be inconclusive this early. She did a blood test and I have to go back for another one on Thurs and see her again on Fri for the results.

Does anyone have any experience of this? Am I likely to get an answer either way on Fri or could the results still be inconclusive? Also how to you deal with the not knowing - I am not very good at waiting for things at the best of times! Thanks

pink the blood test will be pretty good at telling if the pregnancy is on going...sometimes symptoms do come and go.
As for back ache and cramping, well im 19 weeks and i had that too in the early days...and the bleeding!

I have also had a mc and the waiting is the worst part hopefully your blood levels will double by fri, and then you might be referred for an early scan around the 8 week mark....good luck
