Stomach Bug likely to cause MC?

Had a mc last month and was fairly sure I ovulated this week so have been ttc this week. Yesterday I came down with a vicious stomach bug. I have read that stomach bugs can cause miscarriages.

Any positive stories of keeping a pregnancy after a stomach bug in very early pregnancy or should I just expect to miscarry again, assuming I get a BFP in the first place that is

I don't know thb but I had gastroentiritis when only 6 weeks pg last time and was told by doc baby would be fine (and he was). Maybe you could call nhs direct to double check?

I don't know either, but I got shingles about exactly the time I must have conceived DS, and then a nasty stomach bug when about 7-8 weeks pregnant (lost half a stone - eek!). It is hard not to worry, but GP told me would be fine and he seems to be okay at 5 months old. Was after a mc for me as well, so do understand how you worry.

Try not to worry. If you have conceived, then the embryo will not yet have implanted into your uterus, and will not yet be effected by any illness you have.

Try and rest and give your body a chance to get over this illness - it's been through a lot with the miscarriage. Look after yourself, and good luck.

When I was 24 weeks pregnant I caught the norovirus bug (very nasty stomach bug). Vomiting and diarrohea for days. My obstetrician told me that the baby would be fine, the only risk was if I got dehydrated. So just make sure that you stay hydrated, with lots of fluids and possibly rehydration salts if necessary. Ordinary illnesses very rarely cause mc especially early ones.
