Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

MC and Multiple Sclerosis - anyone else?

I miscarried yesterday at almost 7 weeks. It was sudden and horrible. I'd had some spotting last week and had an early scan which showed everything was ok, including a heartbeat. This seems to have made the last couple of days much harder.

The added difficulty is that I have relapsing remitting MS (first attack 2006). I stopped the betaferon when we started TTC. Feeling scared about being off the drugs for too long but can't get a straight answer from the doctors about what to do.

Anyone else out there is a similar position? Any advice?

What a horrible thing to happen to you. Have you seen your own GP - I would advise that you make an appointment to go and see him and tell him that you aren't leaving until he gives you straight answers to your questions.

I believe that after a miscarriage most doctors would recommend you allow your body some time to recover, perhaps you should give yourself a break of 6 months or so and take your medication during this time before TTC again.

I hope things work out for you.

It was pretty horrible. I've seen my GP this morning who was patient, honest and really helpful - thank goodness. Feeling a bit calmer now.
