.....consider buying clomid off the internet? My doc has said it is too early to consider prescribing and should wait for at least another 6 months but my DH is 40 and really doesn't want to keep trying for too long - ideally he would like all our babies born by time he is 42latest {i would like two} as doesn't want to be what he considers an old dad...we already have 3 between us...i have two from my first marriage who are 5 and 10 and he has 12r old from previous relationship. i really really want to fall pregnant but doesn't seem to be happening despite charting and bd on ov days etc...feeling pretty devastatingly gutted today at arrival of AF as was convinced it would be 'my' month....

any thoughts experience to share with me ladies? Be gentle tho, i am feeling really fragile...

Yes it would (although I doubt you are surprised to hear that). Firstly, you won't know that you are actually getting clomid and secondly it could really fuck up your cycles if you take it without medical supervision - tis powerful stuff.

I think not getting pregnant for 3 cycles after a loss is pretty normal. Just try not to put so much pressure on yourself. Your DH may prefer to have babies before he is 42 but please remind him that this is nature, not mail order, and the babies will arrive when the time is right . And you are having sex in the run up to ovulation, aren't you? Just wanted to mention it as focussing just on when you ovulate might not be as good (too many old sperm hanging about in your DH IYSWIM).

In the meantime, if you do feel concerned just go private. Pay a few hundred quid for a consultation and tests from a decent fertility doctor to put your mind at rest. They will precribe clomid if appropriate.

3 cycles after an erpc is pretty normal-it took me 5 before I concieved again. I know there are quite a few sites that sell it- with 'easy' instructions, etc, and lots of afvice and info, but I'm not sure if mess with your cycles in a bad way, and then you m ay have to seek medical intervention to get you to how you were before the clomid. But its upto you, and whether you feel at ease with taking it or not. xx

thanks ladies....i guess i am not suprised to hear it might not be a good idea....i do put pressure on myself in so many areas and it works out but i guess it is completely not the right thing to be doing re babymaking...the crazy thing is i really loved making love before we started trying for a baby now i dread it...last month i only focussed on my 6 key days and did it on those days consecutively and only those....DH is pretty grouchy and feels under pressure too...

i think i will give it another go next month without all of the accompanying expectation....

boodleboot - I am exactly the same re putting myself under pressure. And I get what I want by obsessing about things until they go my way. It's just a shame that producing number two couldn't happen through sheer force of will alone! I would have completed my family a loooong time ago...

Just wanted to let you know that you are not alone. In the end I did conceive DC2 after a very long and disappointing 18+ months, just when I least expected it, really. I do think the lack of expectation that month helped.

boodleboot - I can completely understand your frustration (just shelled out for a Clearblue Fertility Monitor this weekend and pissed off that I need to wait to use it) but I'd be really wary about buying unknown off the internet. Sorry to hear about AF. Hope this coming month works for you.
