2nd miscariage

my dd had just had her 2nd mc in 6 months had to be rushed in a&e today as she was badley bleeding very bad pains in her tummy ,has to go back for a scan sunday morn why is this

ilovesprouts it is so unfair. I am currently waiting to mc a second time consecutively. It's shit. Your poor dd. I am so sorry for you and her to be going through this.

sorry to hear your daughter's sad news. I had 2 mcs before this pregnancy (am not 26 weeks with everything being reassuringly boring). I don't think that many NHS trusts will do tests until after 3 mcs - 2mcs may just be bad luck rather than naything wrong.

How far gone was she? The scan on Sunday will be to check whether a full mc has taken place or not.

(by the way - after I had my second mc my Mum was very supportive - telling me that there was nothing I could have done to avoid it, that it was "one of those things" etc etc. MIL wasn't so helpful shen she was suggesting that they should be doing tests, that there must be something wrong with me - made me feel terrible...)

ilovesprouts - how awful. Hope she gets good treatment. Just to echo lal123's comment - I knew there was nothing I could have done to avoid miscarrying but it helped to hear it from others to reinforce the point. Fate sucks sometimes.

shes had her scan and yhey is still some bits to come away ,they told her to to a preg test and if its still there it will have to be took away shes just very tierd and

she now thinks she wont be able to have any kids ,she has a 2,7 brother ,who she loves to bits and she is like his 2nd mum iukwim

Why does she think she won't be able to have any more kids?

I felt exactly the same after my first mc. I think it is a completely normal reaction to feel this way. Your poor dd. She has just been incredibly unlucky.

Let her know I went on to have 2 dc after mc and a friend of mine had another 2 dc after 2 mc.

Nothing will make sense to her at the mo. The only thing she wants is gone and it is a really difficult time. You sound lovely though and I hope she continues to find support from you as mc is a very sad and lonely thing. Will be thinking of her.

Does she think that she can't have any more children because she thinks she can't carry them or because she might need d&c to remove anything left behind?
Please reassure her that 2m/c doesn't automatically mean that she won't have children and neither will having a d&c.

As luckywinner says it is normal to feel like that. I felt despairing of ever having another child after my first m/c especially as I had trouble conceiving afterwards too. However, I did go on to have more children (more m/cs too. Including 2 in a row - twice).

It's understandable that she's feeling incredibly low at the moment. Do point out the Miscarriage Association site that thefatlady linked to. They can be very helpful and have phone lines if she feels the need to speak to someone.
