When should I do a test after miscarriage

Had a mmc back in may should have been 9wks plus but it had stop at 6 wks. starting bleeding on 11th may & finshed on the 20th.

The clinc told me to do a test. I wonder if I could just wait for my period to arrive or should I do a test anyway.

If there was anything left behind I thought you would still be bleeding??

If I wait for my period to arrive should I count from when I started bleeding like you do normally or from the finshed date. Any suggestions a bit confused

Hi, Sorry for you, I've just had a miscarriage at 8.2 weeks.
I would test now, I am going to do a test this week myself and I have only just finished bleeding. I would think that you would test negative by now- could be wrong but atleast you''ll know.
As for counting your cycle days, as always you count from the first day of your period.

You should do a test two weeks after starting bleeding, and again a week later if not negative by then, if still not negative a week later then you need to return to the doctors.

You do need to do a test before your period for two reasons 1) in case you get pregnant before your next period. You need to know that your levels have gone down or their could be confusion. and 2) you might have stopped bleeding but it could be that things are still left behind. So by getting a negative test you are ensuring that you have cleared everything out.

Hope you get your negative test soon.

As for when you might expect your next period, it could be delayed due to the miscarriage, so don't worry if it does not arrive on time. But as fairy said, you take cd1 as the first day of bleeding.
