Hi I'm new to this and would appreciate your views. I found out a year ago at my 12 wk scan that i had mc after 18mths trying to get pg. My friends partner is pregnant again 8 weeks after mc herself. I feel so jelous and find myself snapping at her all the time. I also can't help but worry that im going to follow in my mums footsteps as she had 7 mc and 1 still born.

Kissy.....I'm so sorry for your loss. It has been seven months since my miscarriage and still nothing.....

I would really recommend that you and your partner go and get some preliminary fertility tests done. If you are under 35 you will be referred to a subfertility unit after a year. If you are over 35, they do this after 6 months.

Preliminary tests usually include blood tests to ensure that you are ovulating and sperm tests for your partner. I can not stress enough how important it is that your OH be tested. My husband finally went and did this and it turned out he has severy sperm morphology issues which is perhaps why it is taking a lttle longer (and perhaps why i miscarried in the first place). In any case, he is now being very healthy and taking his vits and we are hoping for the best!

This is all to say that uncovering why it is taking you so long to conceive may be very helpful in the end. There is SO much that can be done medicaly nowadays to help a couple having trouble.

Ladies - I just hate this and I am so sorry for your losses. I've had 3 mc's over the past year. I've had all the tests - I'm here in the U.S., and they literally test like 50 different things. Anywho, everything is apparently fine but if you ask me, there is something the medical field does not know about yet! I've been TTC since my last mc, which has been 5 months now. I don't know why it's taking so long plus we did clomid and IUI this past cycle and didn't take!
kissy - Keep in mind there have been medical advances since your mom so hopefully you won't have to suffer like she did (not that you aren't already!). And feeling jealous is totally to be expected. I don't even want to talk to my friends about anything good they might have going on in their lives. It's like I simply don't care because all I can think of is what I want. I try to keep up appearances but mostly I don't particularly feel like being around people very much these days!

I am so sorry for your loss kissy81. I suffered a late misscarriage at 23 weeks last June with my 3rd child, due to me contracting a viral infection. My son Henry was perfect!. Soon after i lost him i too became very jealous of anyone with newborn baby boys or who were pregnant. I too have found the last year utterly unbearable to be honest. Have you been onto the SANDS SITE, pleased take a look it may help. Please don't fret and i send you lots of baby dust, i am sure everything will be fine next time.

I had a mc last July, and haven't conceived since. It's depressing isn't it?

Two of my friends started ttc since my miscarriage. One of them is pregnant, the other will no doubt be next. Meanwhile a girl who bullied me at school is accidentally pregnant. Oh the joy.

Leaves you wanting to scream WHEN WILL IT BE MY TURN??? It doesn't feel fair that others should "jump the queue" like that (irrational I know).

And as for the post-mc "fertility surge"? Didn't work out that way for me.

Hey ladies! Just thought i'd give u a wee update. I've jouust found out i'm free weeks pregnant and keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks for all your advice when i was at my lowest and hope you all have the same news to share soon.
